NOTES:
1) Although this area is somewhat short and not as confusing as the previous area, it's still not a simple task. Most of it is underwater, making your movement very slow and tedious. On the positive side, at least you will never run out of air.
2) Some enemies become invisible underwater. The only way that you know they are there is when they start attacking you or when the light shines through the water and you can see the glare of their eyes.
3) There are plenty of weak sections on the ground - spots that will break if you step on them, dumping you underwater. Keep your eye open for these places; they are darker than the rest of the ground.
4) It's a good idea to search the ground every time you kill something. Dropped items are extremely hard to see, whether or not you are underwater.
5) Places marked with XX on the map are deadly whirlpools. Stay away from them or perish.
6) Random drops include Cunes, Soul Pods, and Health Potions as well as the items and equipment marked with * .

VISUAL GUIDE:
Walk down the spiral stairway until you reach a door. Open the door and you will see the NPC from the previous area (if you did not kill him). He is standing next to a pillar on the other side of a bridge.
*** Please take notice that you can kill the NPC here with a well-placed spell. If you do he will drop a Cune but the bridge will drop down. If you killed him in the previous area the bridge will be down. ***
As you approach the bridge a message comes on. It appears that you are surprised to see him here again and a few questions are raised. Then as you move onto the bridge it collapses, dumping you in the water. You will be submerged underwater as another message comes up. This time it appears that you are surprised by the man's actions. But you don't have a lot of time to think about what he just did because an invisible creature will attack you.

As soon as you can move, look around for the telltale signs of the enemy - eyes glaring from the light that shines through the water or the faint shape of a silhouette moving rapidly around you. Kill it and then pick up an M1911 with golden handles and a Soldier's Vest from the ground. Search the floating body for a Cune and keep your eye open for a second invisible creature swimming around. If it is close to you, then kill it. If not, don't worry about it right now. Go up the steps to the right of the floating body until you come out of the water.

There will be two small dinosaur-like creatures waiting for you. Destroy the first one, cross the small bridge and destroy the second one (sometimes both of them are on the other side of the bridge). Look for a Cune on a lower ledge on the waterside. Pick up the Cune and jump back in the water. Search the cove under the bridge you just crossed and pick up an amulet lying underwater. Go back up the steps and cross the bridge one more time.
You might ask, why not save some time and pick up this amulet while you were underwater the first time. You can do so, but the small dinosaur-like creatures will fall in the water when you approach the amulet. They will drown and that might affect your completion percentage.

Now that everything is clear, let's move on. Equip a Fire Ring, specifically the one that has the highest numbers and can shoot up to three spells before recharging. Go into the tunnel that you see after you cross the bridge. Stop when you see a creature facing away from you. Take aim and cast three consecutive fireballs at the creature. If you don't kill it now, the creature will jump into the water and drown. Again that might affect your completion percentage.
Walk around the hole (map point 1A), search the body on the left side of the room for a Health Potion and head into the next room.

When you get to the next room do not step on the darker spots on the ground. They are weak areas that will break with your weight and dump you underwater. There are a lot of these spots around here and they are usually in the middle of the rooms; so be careful. Walk around the left side of the room until you reach another dead body. Pick up the glowing armor from the body and continue until you see a Cune on the floor next to a tunnel entrance. Ignore the tunnel for now. Pick up the Cune and walk across the room towards the Repair Shop. Use the shop if you need repairs. Pick up a Gas Mask lying on the floor behind the Repair Shop and go back to the tunnel entrance you ignored earlier.

Enter the tunnel and follow it until you reach a room that has a large opening in the ground. If you look down you will be able to see a Life Jacket underwater. Open your menu and equip the two-handed sword from your inventory. Make sure your health is full and jump into the water (map point A).

Get ready because as you pick up the Life Jacket three large Water Lizards will drop from above and surround you. Swing your sword horizontally so that you can strike all three monsters at the same time. The two-handed sword is a deadly weapon; so it should take no more than two strikes to kill them all. One of the Water Lizards sometimes drops a long curved sword. If it doesn't and you would like to get this sword, I suggest you start this level again. I was not able to find this sword later on.
After all creatures are gone for good, look around for a section of wall with large cracks in it.

Use a fire spell to break the wall. It will collapse, leaving a large opening which you can go through. Switch weapons at this point and save the two-handed sword for later.
Follow the new tunnel until you reach a small cliff. Jump down and press on your controller to keep moving. In the next room is a large opening in the floor which is creating a whirlpool. The water being sucked into the opening creates a powerful current that will pull you to your demise. Fight the current by staying as far to the right as you can and do not stop moving. Once you move away from this trap you will be able ease up on the controller again.

You will be in a wide tunnel that leads to a large room. As you enter the room, a couple of the invisible creatures will attack you. Dispose of them and go into the room. Get a Magic Potion from the floating body and search the plants in the back of this room for a Spiny Sword - a weapon that looks like it was made from the bones of a large fish.

When you are done, turn around and head back to the room with the whirlpool. Stay as close to the right wall as you can until you get past the deadly trap. To your right will be a ramp that leads out of the water (map point 1B). If you are looking to better your completion percentage, you should go back to where we started and explore the entire area again. If not, then just stay underwater and continue on to the next large cavern. Sometimes a couple of Water Lizards drop from above as you walk by the ramp; so be ready. A few more invisible creatures will be waiting for you in the next cavern.

Dispose of them and then search the back of the room for two Cunes and a pair of boots lying on the floor. They are well hidden behind the plants; so look carefully. After you find them look around the wall for a spot with large cracks in it. Break the wall and continue up the new tunnel until you emerge out of the water.

Follow the tunnel until you reach a cascade. Step through the falling water and stay close to the left wall and go towards the Save Point. Do not walk straight ahead as you come out of the cascade or you will fall through the ground and we don't want that right now (map point 1C). Save your game and move on. A Water Lizard will emerge from behind another cascade; so get ready. Destroy the lizard and search the ground in case it dropped anything. Go through the opening formed by a broken rock pillar and continue until you reach another Water Lizard.

Kill it and search the small cave behind the cascade on the left. There is a sledgehammer hidden in there. Around the next boulder you will see a dead body. It has a Crossbow next to it. Pick up the Crossbow and search the body for a Soul Pod. Continue going around the boulders until you see a rifle leaning against a stone pillar. Pick up the M 14 Rifle and a Health Potion from the pile of bones next to the rifle.

Turn slightly to the left. You can see a waterfall a few feet ahead of you. As you approach the waterfall a large Water Lizard jumps out and attacks you. There are a few things you should know about this creature. It can cast a curse on you if it lands its attacks; so be quick about destroying it. It also drops one of two rings; so search the ground where it dies very carefully.

After you destroy the lizard search the cave behind the waterfall and pick up a Samurai Helmet from the ground. Go back out and turn right. You should be able to see a dark spot on the ground up ahead. Take a closer look; it’s a large hole in the ground that you will have to jump into (map point B). It's the only way out; so hold your breath and take the plunge. You will drop into a large cavern. Take a few seconds to adjust. Look around until you see another one of those large holes with a whirlpool.

Make sure you are facing away from that large hole so that you will be walking in the opposite direction. You will be able to see a light spot shining from above. Stay as close to the left wall as possible because on your right there is another whirlpool and this one is more powerful than the others. Go up the ramp (map point C), pick up the Cune from the floor and then emerge out of the water and go to the Shop. Put some items away because you are almost at your maximum weight allowed. Check the map scribbled on the wall behind the Shop. Now go back the way you came and down the ramp into the underwater cave again.

Stay close to the right side of the underwater cave as you go back in. Just follow that path until you clear both whirlpool areas. As you turn a corner you will be able to see a floating body and three lizards swimming around. Search the body for a Soul Pod and get ready in case the lizards want to come over and say hello. Use your Spiny Sword against them and watch them writhe in pain. After you destroy the creatures pick up a Cune from the floor and take the wide tunnel on your left, ignoring the narrow tunnel on your right for now.

Continue until you see another floating body. If there are any more of those swimming lizards still alive, destroy them. One should drop a glowing helmet. Now you can search the body for a Cune and watch out for more invisible creatures. Search the back of this cavern and you will find a Spanish Sword next to a pile of bones. Go back towards the floating body, but stay close to the left wall so you can guide yourself. This will make it easier to find a small tunnel that leads to the left. As you get close to that tunnel you will be attacked by two creatures which didn't bother to stay invisible.

Get rid of them and watch for a pair of gloves that are randomly dropped. Head into the tunnel destroying anything that gets in your way until you reach a large cavern. There will be two skeletons on the floor. One has a Fire Ring (if you didn't get it earlier from a random drop). The other one has a Long Bow on the ground nearby. Once you are done, head back out of this cavern. Kill anything that might have respawned and continue left until you reach the entrance to the narrow tunnel we ignored earlier.

You will reach a cave with two Water Lizards and a bunch of pods. The pods are all empty; so don't bother with them. Destroy the lizards, pick up anything they may drop and check the back of this cave for a Cune on the floor. Go up the ramp in this cave to emerge out of the water (map point D). The walking space is very narrow, but at least there are no hidden holes in the ground for you to fall through.

Walk around the first set of broken pillars until you see a message written on the wall. Keep going a little further and you will find an amulet lying on the floor. Pick up the amulet, turn around and head towards the misty opening. Dispose of any monsters that may attack and head towards the dark spot on the ground on the left side (map point E).

Be careful because when you jump in you will fall next to the strongest whirlpool and you will have to fight the heavy current as it tries to pull you into the whirlpool. Turn around and face the whirlpool. While still pulling back on your controller let the current drag you closer until you can see a Halberd lying on the ground. Pick it up and move back until you are free of the current. Walk up the tunnel until you reach an open room with a couple of small lizards waiting for you. Destroy the small lizards and step into the room. Turn left on the ledge and pick up a set of boots from the floor.

Turn around and follow the ledge until it ends and connects to a stairway leading down into the water. Slowly walk into the water and watch how four small lizards are swimming around the bottom of the pool. Don't jump in or else they will chomp you into tiny little pieces. If you use the sword that regenerates HP you will reach them from the safety of the stairway. Search the floating body for the Fire Bomber Ring and then head up the other stairway and get out of the water. Turn right on the ledge until you reach a door.

Open the door and walk onto the small ramp. Search the dead body for a box of Dorado's Ashes and step out through the other door. You will be back in the same room where you started, but this time you will be on the other side of the first bridge - the same side where the NPC was when you first got here. And if you didn't kill him then, he is nowhere to be found. Push the stone pillar and the bridge will be raised. Now you can go across safely. From here you can go back through the entire area if you want to work on your completion percentage. If not, just go out the opposite door and you will be back in the Scouring Rush Area.
